TS3A4741: looking for SPST switch that can hold its state after power off

Expert 6310 points
Part Number: TS3A4741

Hi team,

looking for SPST switch similar to TS3A4741 which could hold its state after power off. Do we have something like that?

Mechanical solution is not acceptable in this case.

Thanks!

  • Hi Bart,

    Thank you for using e2e.

You can use a switch that supports powered off protection feature. The switch with powered off protection will maintain a high-impedance state on the I/O and digital logic pins when the switch's supply is unpowered. This will protect the switch from damage and will prevent any data from being transmitted unintentionally.

I came across the following switches with powered off protection in the device search tool. with same configuration as the TS3A4741.

    How about using the TS5A21366?

  • Keeping a solid-state switch on requires a gate voltage, which requires a power supply to overcome the leakage current. So this is not possible.

  • Hi Saminah,

the idea is that the switch would hold its state even after cutting the power supply. I think powered-off protection feature is something different.

I believe Clemens is right that is not possible with currently available switches.

  • Hi Bart,

Correct. If you want to keep the switch on after power is removed, the signal switch will not support that as all our switches are passive FET switches.

The powered off protection is to guarantee the switch in open state when power is removed.
