SN74CB3Q16245: If I input the LVDS signal through SN74CB3Q16245,is it output the LVDS signal too?

Part Number: SN74CB3Q16245

E2E,

If I input the LVDS signal through SN74CB3Q16245,is it output the LVDS signal too?

The LVDS signal frequency will be about 200Mhz.

Thank you,

Adam

  • Hi Adam,

    Thank you for using E2E.

All of our switches and multiplexers are bidirectional and support all signals (I2C, UART, LVDS, etc) within the recommended operating conditions of the IC.

The SN74CB3Q16245,can support up to 500MHz bandwidth. However, whether or not it can meet your LVDS requirements also depends on the signal fundamental frequency and its waveform. In other words, it depends on how much margin you want to leave to the system.

For example, the data rate is 100Mbps square wave, having a 500MHz multiplexer should be good enough. If the LVDS data rate is up to 150Mbps square wave, theoretically, only the 3rd harmonic can pass through the multiplexer. Board parasitics, temperature, receiver detection performance are also in need of considerations.
