TS3A226AE: Question of Phone Jack Detection Mechanism of the TS3A226AE

Part Number: TS3A226AE
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3A227E

Hi Sirs,

As title, is the phone jack detection mechanism of the TS3A226AE same as the TS3A227E does (as the picture below)?
Is the datasheet on the website a complete version?

Thank you and Best regards,

  • Hi Wayne,

The datasheets on the product folder have complete information about these devices.

As the title indicates, these are audio jack switch devices that detect 3- or 4-pole audio accessories.

I found this post on e2e highlighting the main differences between the  audio jack switch devices we have:

  • Hi Saminah,

Thank you for your advise. Addition to the comparison of functions, Does the TS3A226AE use the same impedance ranges as the TS3A225 and 227 for detection?

    Thank you and Best regards,

  • Hi Wayne,

Yes, the TS3A226AE use the same impedance ranges as the TS3A225 and 227 for detection.

If you look at the TS3A225E datasheet register map you can see that the device recognizes a range of resistances and assigns it a register value.  The device then compares the register values to determine if the tip to sleeve (Rsleeve) and tip to ring 2 (R2) resistances are >, <, or = to each other.
