SN74CBT3257C: Level shift use case for 1.8V to 3.3V

Hi team,

One of my customer is trying to use SN74CBT3257C to control I/O with level shift from 1.8V to 3.3V. I doubt whether customer can use this device to do it or not. I read one of the app notes talking about this kind of switch is better for voltage down application. Therefore, just want to confirm on the application. If so, could you provide me some guidance? if not, what device do you suggest to use?

Hey Leroy,

Maybe i'm misunderstanding but is there a reason they don't just use a level-shifter. It's not in the multiplexers and signal switches portfolio but the LSF0101 is a logic part that would shift the level you want, probably easier with less circuit consideration.

With regards to shifting up from 1.8V to 3.3V with the SN74CBT2357C, it should be feasible with external elements.

Remember, at the core of it all, these devices are essentially FETs, so your design should work around this consideration.
