TS3A44159: TS3A44159 leakage from pin 11(NO4) to pin 14 (V+)

Part Number: TS3A44159
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1574,

Hi expert,

Let me share more information on customer board, Customer found that the once board is not powered, and plugged a console line on the board. It was found there's 0.6V on the V+ pin. Is this expected?

If needed, I can share the customer circuit via email.

  • The absolute maximum ratings forbid VNO to go above VCC + 0.5 V. A current will flow though the ESD protection diode into VCC.

The TMUX1574 has powered-off protection even on the analog I/Os.

  • Hello,

As Clemens mentioned, TS3A44159 does not have powered-off protection, so when the device is powered down and a voltage is present on the inputs, the device will not be protected. Current may flow through the ESD protection diodes and unintentionally back-power the device. This may be what you are observing on the V+ pin.

If the customer intends to plug in the console line while the board is not powered, you will want to select a switch with powered-off protection, such as TMUX1574.

Let me know if this helps!

    Best regards,
    Kate
