TS3A5018: Case No.: CS0386644

Part Number: TS3A5018
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1574

Hi,
We are planning to run post simulation on our board. Would like request the IBIS model for part TS3A5018RGYR. (1.8V model)

We are able to grab the IBIS model for TS3A5018, from the link: https://www.ti.com/product/TS3A5018#design-development##design-tools-simulation .However the IBIS model do not include the package we used (VQFN) and the voltage in the IBIS show 25 and 33, there is no 18. Somehow the IBIS model is not working in hyperlynx 9.4.1. it prompt error :Component TS3A5018_PW has duplicate series pin mapping entries.

Please share with us the working IBIS model for part TS3A5018RGYR with 1.8V model.

Thanks.

  • Hello Mei and welcome to E2E!

You are correct that the IBIS model for TS3A5018 does not include data for the VQFN package and 1.8V supply.

Have you considering using another switch for your system, such as TMUX1574? TMUX1574 offers improved features and specifications, and there is an IBIS model available with data for 1.65V operation in the UQFN package, if you are interested.

What is your use case for which you have decided to use TS3A5018?

    Best regards,
    Kate

  • Hi Kate,

Our board is already built with TS3A5018, VQFN package and 1.8V supply. Currently we tested one of the feature is failing at the path with TS3A5018 switch in between. We would like to run simulation to confirm the timing analysis on the path. Thus we would need to have IBIS model for this part for our simulation in Hyperlynx. Could you please help to provide the IBIS model for this part?

    Thanks.

    Regards,

  • Hi Mei,

Thanks for the additional information. Could you explain more about the feature in your system that is failing in the switch's signal path?

I will inquire about the IBIS model data for this package & voltage level, however this is a much older device and this data may not be available. I will let you know what I find and check back in with you next week.

    Best regards,
    Kate

  • Hi Kate,

It is a FPGA >switch >mictor connector> QSPI daughter card (running at 166MHz)

The total length in layout for this path was 17 inches.

Please help us with the IBIS model.

    Thanks.
