LMS4684: Maximum operating junction temperature

Part Number: LMS4684

I am looking for the maximum operating junction temperature for this component. It has an absolute maximum junction temperature of 150°C listed in the spec sheet, however I am looking for max operating.

Thanks

  • Hi Jesus,

    To Calculate the Max Junction temperature use the following formula:

    Junction_Temp = T_Ambient + (Theta_J_A * I_sw^2 * R_On)

    Theta_J_A depends on package for this device it has the following values:

    I will do an example with the WSON-10 package:

    Max_Junction_Temp = max_ambient_temp + 43 C/W * ((I_Sw_continuous_max^2 * R_on)+ (VCC * ICC))W = 85C + (43 C/W * ((0.4^2 * 0.45)+(5nA * 3V ))= 88.096 C - this is an approximation  as Ron can be slightly different and there may be slight approximations used for power used from supply. But the max operating temperature that this junction should reach is right around 88 C - this isn't the process breakdown point but when used in a proper manner it should be right around this value.
