TMUX6121: ADG1221 drop in replacement needed

Part Number: TMUX6121

I am looking for a drop in replacement for the ADG1221 and found the TMUX6121. My application is single supply (5V) which the TMUX6121 does not seem to support. Can you confirm that TMUX6121 has 10V minimum requirement in single supply application.

Is there another part I should be looking at...?

Thanks.

  • Hi Tony,

The TMUX6121 needs at least 10V between VDD and VSS to operate - at single supply that would be a 10V minimum. We do have other parts but they are in different, usually smaller packages.

Can  I ask why the ADG1221 is being used in a 5V application? If that part performs at that voltage it will perform at a much worse level than what is spec'd in the datasheet. Even though our other 2 channel 1:1 switches aren't pin to pin with the AD1221 most of them are work best at a single supply voltage of 5V - we have a few options depending on the end application of the switch - even just knowing signal bandwidth and loading conditions I will be able to guide you to the best option we have available.

Please let me know if this is an option.

    Best,

    Parker Dodson

  • Thanks Parker.

I just realized this design does provide ±5V rails so this is actually a non issue.
