TS3A44159: Inquiries related to 4-channel analog switch.

Part Number: TS3A44159
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1574, TMUX1575

Hi, TI expert.

I have an inquiry about a 4-channel analog switch from a customer.

The TS3A44159PWR controls 4 wires with 2 control pins. (4CH is controlled by 2 Controls)

Is there a switch that can control 4 wires with one control pin? (4CH is controlled by 1 Control)

please check.

Thank you.

  • Hi Grady,

We don't have a part that has that configuration. However as a note  - the control lines can be shorted together on the TS3A44159 to "act" as 1 select line in the case of their only being one control signal. The trade off is that the digital input capacitance will double as it has both pins parasitic capacitance (2.5pF x 2 = 5pF for digital input capacitance).

Our 4 channel 2:1 switches have 3 types of control configurations:

    1)  4 Selects (1 for each Output)

    2)  2 Selects (1 for 2 Outputs like the TS3A44159)

    3) 1 Select and 1 Enable (Select will control where switches are and enable will enable/disable device)

That being said can I ask why you are looking for this configuration?  Also why was the customer drawn to the TS3A44159 in the first place? We do have other options that may better fit the goal - such as the TMUX1574 for a cheaper option (slightly more resistive than TS3A44159) or the TMUX1575 for a smaller option (2mm^2).

Please let me know so I can see if we a part that will better fit the application.

    Best,

    Parker Dodson
