TS12A44515: Any fault protected versions available?

Part Number: TS12A44515
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5A3166

I'm looking for a fault protected SPST switch. I am using the ADG4612 now, would like to find a protected switch with a lower RDS on TS12A44515 looks close but, is it protected from overvoltage when the circuit it is connected to is live but the part is not? Does TI make these kind of switches?

Thanks

DR

  • David,

TI has devices that will place the signal path in a high impedance Hi-Z state when Vcc= 0V.  TI calls this feature powered off protection or Ioff protection.  We are trying to work on a better way for you to find these parts on our website but it won't be until sometime mid this year that it goes live to the web.

The lowest Ron SPST device I found with the powered off protection feature is the TS5A3166.  I found this on TI.com switch search tool by filtering for SPST devices and then sorted Ron least to greatest.  Then I opened each datasheet and looked for the powered off leakage parameter.

There is also a filter in the tool under additional features for Ioff protection but it doesn't necessarily return all the devices with this feature.  This will be fixed towards the middle of this year.

I'm sorry for the mess finding what you need let me know if you need any more help.

  • Thanks for the help Adam. I will have a look at that part.
