Customer are looking at SN74CBTLV3251 but are asking for a 16 ch devise, do we have? Also, do we have with I2C/SPI control?
Requirements:
Digital, one bit in 8 bit or more out, preferable I2C control
cd74hc4067 looks somewhat OK but are too slow. Do we have a faster?

I'm confused about your request because you ask for a 16 channel device but Your requirement appears to be a 1-channel 8:1 mux with I2C control. I think you are asking for a 1-channel 16:1 device.
I searched TI.com for 16:1 devices and found 7 parts below. The MUX506 and MUX36S16 have bandwidth of 500MHz which can pass signals that much faster than the CD74HC4067 89MHz.
Why do you need a faster switch? What is your bandwidth requirement or what is the switch connected to in the signal path?
TI currently doesn't have any I2C controlled analog switches but is looking into the development of SPI or I2C controlled devices. If enough customers ask for this feature it could speed up the development process.
