TS5A22366: What happens when audio signal is higher than Vcc

1) what will happen when NO or NC audio signal is higher than Vcc? 

2) During NO pin is route to COM pin, what will happen if there is a audio signal (signal swing higher than Vcc) applied to the NC pin(which is OPEN)

    1) if the NO or NC audio signals are higher than Vcc the device is being operated outside the recommended operating conditions.  If the voltage exceeds Vcc +0.5 V the device is being operated outside the absolute maximum rating leaving the device at risk to permanent damage.

    There is an ESD protection diode from the NC/NO pins to Vcc that will begin to get forward biased as the voltage exceeds Vcc.  This will cause leakage current through Vcc.

    2) The forward biasing of the internal ESD diode will happen even if the signal path is not enabled.

    Devices with powered off protection will not have this issue of forward biasing ESD diodes.

    TI has over 300 switches to choose from that will support wide range in voltages.  Ti.com switch search tool will allow you to use the power supply filter Vcc max to find a device that will support the voltage you need.  Below I filtered for 2:1, 2-channel, which is that same configuration as the TS5A22362, and sorted on Vdd max greatest to least. 

    What are you connecting to the switch? 

    What is the voltage range you would like to support?
