CD4053B crosstalk

Hey yall, sorry for the slow reply. I'm interested in the cross talk from the Y to Y0 path, to the X to X0, and/or Z to Z0 paths. Is that how the -40dB is spec'd? what was the test set up for that so I can know aggressor/victim impedances. Was it into 50ohms? I might be able to back it out. Maybe there is a simple "DUT" type, how it was tested diagram somewhere in the doc notes?

We are running extremely sensitive signals through these MUX's, and we are always looking for ways to minimize crosstalk in the system, so just doing some diligence on this potential area of crosstalk in the system.
  • Hi Baron,

With below pin out of CD4053B:

To measure Ax OR Ay to Ay cross talk (pin 14 to pin 13, switch closed on ax), the channel input and output is connected to the network analyzer as below.

The equation used to generate the plot is:

    Crosstalk (dB)= 20log(Vout/Vs)

    Where
VS : Voltage applied to source pin of on channel
VOUT: Voltage measured at output pin of off channel

A general cross talk graph is represented as frequency (Hz) vs magnitude (dB)

Similarly, below graph is the Bx OR By to By( pin 15 to pin 1, Bx switch closed):

Similarly, below graph is the Cx OR Cy to Cy( pin 4 to pin 3, Cx switch closed):

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Helen
