TS5A23159: Multiplexer for PDM digital signals

Part Number: TS5A23159

Hi,

Is it good to use TS5A23159RSER(Analog multiplexer) for multiplexing PDM digital clock and data signals? SInce this is analog multiplexer, the min input & output logic voltage levels are not mentioned in the datasheet. Please check and let me know if we can use this for multiplexing PDM digital data. If so, please provide min input & output logic voltage levels.

Thanks in advance

  • Srilkshmi,

The analog multiplexer can be thought of as a wire since it doesn't have and buffer or drive capability. This is why there isn't an input and output logic level. The switch will simply create a low impedance or high impedance path from the COM to NO/NC pins and the voltage on those pins will depend on the external driver and the load connected to it.

You can use these signal switches to multiplex any signal as long as the voltage, current, and bandwidth are within the recommended operating conditions. For the TS5A23159, if your Pulse Density Modulated (PDM) signal is from 0 V to Vcc and <100 MHz there will not be any issues.

    Thank you,
    Adam
