TS5A23167: Connection when unpowered & data sheet mismatch

Part Number: TS5A23167

Hi,

1. TS5A23167 is powered off but COM2 (pin #C2) is 3V as connected a battery on board.

According to the spec- Vi/o < V+

I know that it has Isolation in Powered-Off Mode but Is it OK? No damage in long term?

2. Mismatch on data sheet between revisions-

Function table on Rev-A SEP-2012 says "L"=switch ON

Function table on Rev-B JAN-2019 says "L"=switch OFF

Please advise,

thank you,

Doron

  • Doron,

    1) The powered off isolation spec states that when Vcc = 0V, and NC or COM pin is up to 5.5V, the signal path will remain low leakage (Hi-Z) and not damage device.

    2) Since the majority of the time the datasheet had logic low = switch on, I will bet that is the correct operation since it looks like the change was recent.  I will order some TS5A23167 devices to check the control logic and confirm.  However, I'm out of the office the rest of the week so I won't be able to test units until next week.

    Thank you,

    Adam

    Doron,

I have confirmed that the 2012 version of the datasheet is correct and the 2019 version is in error.  I will work on getting the new version updated to the correct truth table.

    Thank you,

    Adam
