TS3A5223: can this support I2S signal or not

Part Number: TS3A5223
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1574, SN74CBTLV3257

Hi Team,

I'd like to use TS3A5223 for audio I2S signal switch, is this suitable or not? Thank you.

C.T.

  • Chentsu,

A popular solution for I2S switch is using the new TMUX1574 or SN74CBTLV3257.

From my understanding the I2S protocol is a 3 or 4 wire protocol, with 3.3 V signals, and clock frequency up to ~15 MHz .  The TS3A5223 is a 2-channel device so you would need to use two ICs to support 4-channel I2S.  The TS3A5223 will support 3.3 V signals up to  25 MHz.

What was your thought process in selecting a I2S switch that you choose the TS3A5223?

What about the TS3A5223 device gave you doubt if it is suitable for I2S?

    Thank you,

    Adam
