TS3A226AE: TS3A226AE check SCH

Part Number: TS3A226AE

Dear all:

Please help check TS3A226AE SCH to replace SGM2549, thank you!

Why PIN C2 TIP need connect to the TIP segment of the headphone jack?

How to operate the TS3A226AE?ALC662.pdf

  • Hi, Xiaowei,

To tell the difference between CTIP and OMTP headsets, different manufacturers use different detection algorithm. For TS3A226AE, the detection algorithm requires the use of the left audio channel (TIP segment of the headphone jack) as part of the process. We feel this approach is more robust and more accurate than the other type of detection algorithms.

I don't see any issues with the schematic and I like how the customer implements the EN pin of the TS3A226AE to take advantage of starting the detection only when the headset is plugged into the jack. The SGM2549 uses a different approach as it sends the detection pulses periodically, which might cause some minor drawback (ie. response time, click/pop noise...etc).

    Thanks,

    David
