Hi team,

My customer is using the SN74TVC3306 now, but the customer and i cannot understand the principle very well. Could you please describe more how the internal circuit work? Many thanks.

    Thanks for your question. Is the customer interested in using this device as a voltage clamp? Take a look at the application information from the datasheet below:

    Following the design procedure:

    • B1 (Vbias) should be connected to a VCC supply through a 200kohm resistor.
    • Set the voltage of A1 (Vref) to the desired clamp voltage for the switches
    • Connect GATE to Vbias. This will set the GATE voltage to Vbias, which is approximately Vref +0.6V.
    • GATE is common to the gates of all NFETs. NFETs begin to conduct current when the voltage difference of the gate and source (VGS) is greater than the threshold voltage (0.6V). This means that the voltage at A2 or A3 is limited to the gate voltage - 0.6V (Vref).

    Keep in mind that this is a bidirectional device so A/B pins may be used as either inputs or outputs. Additionally, all channels in the switch are identical and GATE is common to all NFETs, so Vref/Vbias may be applied to any channel.
