TS3A227E: TS3A227E issue for apple's headphone or OMTP headset(cant receive Headset Volume up/down events)

Part Number: TS3A227E

We use the TS3A227E in our embedded device to detect Wired Headsets

When we tested the function of headset button events, we met an issue that apple’s headphone , we don't receive events from the chip for Volume up/down , headset detect and Media Play/Pause work perfectly fine.

This issue is also observed with Sennheiser Urbanite XL headset https://en-us.sennheiser.com/urbanite-xl  Model no B00M3NZKA2

Do you have any suggestion as to why the Chip might not be detecting Volume up/down events for these headsets?1663.TS3A227E.PDF

  • Hello,

Do you have a schematic that you can send? That would be helpful in troubleshooting the issue.

It sounds like the switch is properly detecting the headset and you are able to listen to music. Are you able to use the mic properly as well?

Is the only issue in your system is that the audio does not respond to the volume controls of the headset?

Have you tried shorting the L and R audio signals across the switch to the codec to see if you can reproduce the issue with adjusting the volume via headset?

    Regards,
    Kate
