SN74CB3Q3257: Voltage level questions

Part Number: SN74CB3Q3257

In datasheet, this part works for 0.8V to 5V IO  voltage.

When VCC is 3.3v, it is said that VIH min is 2V, VIL Max is 0.8V, how does it work?

  • Hi Shenhua,

The VIH and VIL are the Switch control signal levels required for the switch to change the internal signal path.

VIH is the minimum voltage for the input control signal to achieve a logic "1"high value
VIL is the maximum voltage for the input control signal to remain a logic "0"low value

The VI/O voltage is specified from 0-5.5V on this switch when your supply is in the recommended operating range (2.3V min to 3.6V max).

You will notice the VIH and VIL spec for this device are based on the VCC range you are operating in.

You can find more details on VIH, VIL control signal levels in our precision labs video here.Switches and muxes: Output/Input Logic Levels (VOH, VOL, VIH, VIL).

    Thanks

    Saminah
