CD74HC4066: Confirmation of Device Marking

Part Number: CD74HC4066

Hi team,

We bought CD74HC4066M96 but in the same reel there are ICs whose top marked as “8CCPQ6K HC4066M” and “8CCPQEK HC4066M”.

Please teach the meaning of the words above respectively, and what is the difference between “6K” and “EK”?

Beat Regards,
Tom Liu

  • Hi Tom,

Let me check the symbol marking and get back to you.

    Thanks

    Saminah

  • Hi Tom,

The “HC4066M” is the device code and the  x7 character code is the Lot Traceability Code, or “LTC”. It is an internal reference number that allows us to determine when and where that particular unit was manufactured and can change wheres the device code remains consistent.

  • Hi Saminah,

Thank you for your reply. Please let me confirm one more thing.

I think ICs in the same reel of tapy should have the same device marking commonly,
but my customer found that CD74HC4066M96s marked as “8CCPQ6K” and “8CCPQEK" are in the same reel(tape).
So they to know the meaning of "6K" and "EK".
In other world, Is it normal that they can be in the same reel(tape)?

    Beat Regards,
    Tom Liu

  • Hi Tom,

The “6” and “E” are just unique values that determines for us traceability back to the specific assembly lot number for this material

Having both in same reel (tape) is normal..  When there is uneven quantity of material from different lots the A/T site can combine one or more lots into the same reel to meet the full reel quantity.
