SN74LV4051A: SN74LV4051A INH using 50kHz case consult

Part Number: SN74LV4051A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1308

Hi team,

It is nice to know you here. My customer wants to use a 50kHz PWM signal to control the INH pin for 100ms. From the datasheet,  the max enables and disable time is 18ns. Could you please help check if it is ok to use this device like this? Thanks.

BR,

Charles Lin

  • Hi Charles Lin,

Thank you for your question. The specification of enable/disable delay time is the response time of the output to change as a result of a change in INH (diagram shown in Figure 6 of the datasheet). With a max delay of 18ns, the device will have enough time for the output to rise/fall in response to a 50kHz PWM control signal.

I would also like to let you know that we have a comparable new 8:1 mux, TMUX1308, which has improved features and is available in a tiny new leaded package.

Let me know if you have any additional questions!

    Best regards,
    Kate
