TS5A3159A: Better crosstalk spec

Part Number: TS5A3159A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1072, TS5A9411, TMUX154E, TMUX1136, TMUX1575, SN3257-Q1

Team,

We use TS5A3159A to achieve video signal switch. The frequency is 41MHz and 36MHz. Could you help find the better crosstalk part for us? better than TS5A3159A, V+=5V.

Roy

  • Hi Roy,

TI has several 2:1 switches with improved crosstalk specifications. Please take note of the characteristic crosstalk curve which will give you a better idea of crosstalk performance at the frequencies of your applications. I found a few devices that may suit your application: TMUX1072 and TS5A9411. Take a look at the crosstalk characterization plots below, and let me know if you are interested in either device.

    Best regards,
    Kate

  • Hi Kate,

it looks like that 30~40MHz crosstalk is not good. Could you help find the our desired spec which is showing as below

    1. Crosstalk is around -70dB@30-40M
    2. I think Rds is as low as possible.  TS5A3159A is around 1.2 ohm@3.3V.
    3. 3.3Vsupply.

    Thank you.

    Roy

  • Hi Roy,

Thank you for the additional information on your spec requirements. Since you are trying to minimize Ron, I have three devices for you to take a look at: TMUX1136, TMUX1575, and TMUX154E. I recommend the new TMUX1575 which has the lowest typical Ron of these options, with the crosstalk performance you are looking for.

Please let me know which device interests you or if you have any additional questions!

    Best regards,
    Kate

  • Hi Kate,

Thank you for your information. If we need auto grade part, do you have any suggestion?

    Roy

  • Hi Roy,

For an automotive grade device, I recommend SN3257-Q1. Typical Ron is 2ohm. Please see the crosstalk plot below:
