SN74CBTLV3245A: We want to check whether the logic input has slew rate requirement for the SN74CBTLV3245

Part Number: SN74CBTLV3245A

Hi team,

My customer is using the SN74CBTLV3245 now. We want to check whether the logic input has slew rate requirement? Thanks.

  • Hi Frank,

Thanks for your question. There is no requirement for slew rate at the logic inputs. These inputs respond to VIH and VIL thresholds, as shown below in the snapshot from the Multiplexers and Signal Switches Glossary. Any voltage above VIH will be a logic high and any voltage below VIL is a logic low. VIH and VIL can be found in the Recommended Operating Conditions for this device.

There is no timing requirement to control the logic pins, but there are timing characteristics t(en) and t(dis) that specify how long it will take for the output of the switch to respond to a change in logic input. You can find those characteristics in the datasheet in the Switching Characteristics table.

Additionally, you may find relevant information in the following application note: Implications of Slow or Floating CMOS Inputs

Please let me know if this answers your question.

    Best Regards,
    Kate
