TMUX1308: Need to multiply JTAG

Part Number: TMUX1308
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1309

Hi Team,

Can you please check and advise with following request:

"

We need to multiply JTAG. Could using TMUX1308 and TMUX1309 for this application be a solution for us, Mr. Furkan? Do you have another solution that we can multiply JTAG? Could there be a proper use with this switch?

"

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

Furkan Sefiloglu

  • Hi Furkan,

When you say multiplying - are you saying that you want to fanout the JTAG  - for example X inputs to Y Outputs so if we have a 1;4 it would be 1 input produces four different outputs.

    Or

Do you need JTAG signals routed to multiple different devices - for example you have 1 primary device and mutliple secondary devices and you want the primary to communicate to the secondary devices - but only one at a time.

If the application is option 1 I don't think a Multiplexer/Switch is the best option.

If the application is looking for the application described in option 2 - these parts may work - but what voltage would you be operating at, what signals are being routed through the mux (as TCK has a lower impedance termination and depending on frequency and supply voltage this part may not be best).

Either way please let me know so we can see if a mux is right for this application!

    Best,

    Parker Dodson
