Hi experts,

Can TS5A21366 switch negative voltages (-200mV to GND) at the NOn and COMn pins? Any concerns?

Thanks and BR,
KF.

  • KF,

We cannot garuntee the device performance in the electrical characteristics table if the device is being operated outside the recommended operating conditions.

-200mV to GND at the NOn and COMn pins does not violate the absolute maximum ratings -0.5V on NO and COM pins so you will not be at risk of causing permeant damage to the device.  The -0.5 V rating is derived from a protection diode from the COM and NO pins to ground which will begin to conduct causing excess leakage current on those pins.  Note 4 is saying that this excess current is what can cause the damage to the device and must be limited to <50mA.

    Thank you,

    Adam
