TS3V713EL (7-channel VGA 1:2 switch) Resolution Question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3V713EL

Hi Signal switch experts,

I know TS3V713EL which can provide 1.3 GHz bandwidth for VGA signal.

Just want to confirm it can support 1920x1200 resolution right? What’s the maximum resolution TS3V713EL can support ?

  • Chasel,

    The relationship between bandwidth and resolution calculation requires more variables than you specified.

    For more details you can see this application noteSignal Bandwidth vs. Resolution for analog Video.pdf

    A very conservative and simplified way to estimate the maximum frequency required for a video signal is multiplying the number of pixels by the refresh rate.

    BW(max) = Horizontal lines x Vertical lines x refresh rate

    138MHz = 1920 x 1200 x 60

    The 1.3 GHz bandwidth of the TS3V713EL will be more than enough to handle this resolution.

    Thank you,

    Adam
