TS3DV642: Maximum Icc

Part Number: TS3DV642

Hi,

Could you please give me the maximum Icc when VCC is supplied 3.6V although 50uA is mentioned as the typical value in TS3DV642 data sheet ?
In addition, is my understanding correct that Icc hardly changes even if inputing the data of 6Gbps to the data path ?

Best regards,
Kato

  • Kato,

You are correct that you will not see a change in Icc vs datarate.  This is because the TS3DV642 is a passive FET switch and doesn't have any buffering.  I/O paths are connected to the drain and source of the FET.

I looked at the characterization data of 30 units across temp and found that the max current @ Vcc = 3.6 V was at 85 deg C.  We also see similar results with Vcc = 4.5 V.  Since this datasheet currently doesn't list the max spec we cannot garuntee a maximum current.

What are you trying to do with this switch that the ICC max spec is critical for your application?

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Hi Adam-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
Our customer will be satisfied if it is found that the current consumption doesn't depend on the data rate.
By the way, is it able to supply 5.5V to TS3DV642 as Vcc supply voltage although 5.5V isn't guaranteed in TS3DV642 data sheet ?

    Best regards,
    Kato

  • Kato,

I'm sorry I typed an error in my previous post.

We do not guarantee the datasheet performance with Vcc = 5.5 V.  However the Vcc = 5.5V is within the absolute maximum rating which means you will not have a increased reliability concern or risk of permanently damaging the device if it is exposed to this voltage.

Does your application require that the TS3DV642 can be supplied with 5.5 V?  Would there be any benefit if we increased the supply range of the TS3DV642?

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Hi Adam-san,

    Thank you for your support.
We haven't got the request for the power supply voltage from our customer although the analog voltage and the digital input voltage is needed to be supplied with 5.5V.
So, I will contact you if we get additional questions from him.

    Best regards,
    Kato
