TX810EVM: What does TX810 do?

Part Number: TX810EVM

Dear TI Employees,

I've already read the manuals of  TX810 and  TX810EVM. I would like to know in more details what this board does, and why do we need this board. Any general information about T/R switches are appreciated. I searched on the internet about T/R switches but I couldn't find any proper documents.

Thank you for your kind help.

  • Hi Sajad,

The TX810 is a T/R switch which is used to prevent high voltage signals from the TX directly getting to the ultrasound RX's lower voltage amplifier input pins.
Page 9 pf the TX810 datasheet shows an overview of a typical ultrasound system and describes the function of the T/R switch at the bottom of the page.

    Sincerely,
    Olu
