TS3A5223: Support UART switch or not

Part Number: TS3A5223

Hi there:

I'd like check whether the TS3A5223 could support the UART (16550 compatible) or not?

Max baud rate for clock source 14.769 MHz is up to 921K bps.

The baud rate at 24 MHz is 1.5 M bps.

source with SOUTA & SINA only.

Terminal portion witj 2 device.

Thanks again.

  • Hi Kay,

TS3A5223 should be able to support up to 3.3V 2:1 UART. Here are my reasons.

    1. Your Bandwidth requirement is 24MHz while TS3A5223 is 80MHz. Up to 3rd harmonic can well pass through the channel.

    2. Voltage range of TS3A5223 is 1.65V ~ 3.6V. As long as your customer's UART voltage swing is within 1.65 ~ 3.6V. It should be good.

I don't get your comment on "Terminal portion witj 2 device.". However, based on the above analysis, this piece of information might not be quite relevant for your switch choice :-)
