TS3DV642: Application in HDMI. HDMI 2.0 impedance test fail.

Hi,

I using TS3DV642 in HDMI application, In HDMI 2,0 impedance test fail.

When I tested the HDMI impedance of TS3DV642, The same channel, there is no problem in testing HDMI1.4.

When testing HDMI2.0, the impedance exceeds the standard, the same card. Without using the HDMI channel of TS3DV642, the impedance is normal.

For the HDMI channel that has been added to the TS3DV642, How to make it pass the impedance test of HDMI1.4 and HDMI2.0 simultaneously?

Normal data and increase TS3DV642 corresponding channel exceeded data such as annex.

Normal impedance in HDMI 1.4 test:(it limit is 100ohm +-15%)

Abnormal impedance in HDMI 2.0 test:(it limit is 100ohm +-10%)

Hi JMMN,

This test is about HDMI impedance，it must be check HDMI1.4 and HDMI 2.0 all pass the test.
and the HDMI 2.0 test over specification.(the HDMI 2.0 impedance define 100ohm +/- 10%)

Hi Wu,

So is the sink on and the TS3DV642 enabled? Can you share what the sink TDR looks like without the TS3DV642 in the path?

Hi Wu,

I have tested the TS3DV642 impedance in the lab today and while I do see that it impacts the TDR likely due to the Ron in the device, I don't see that it is enough to cause an HDMI 2.0 sink impedance failure. Was the TDR measurement without the TS3DV642 already on the high side?

Hi Jmmn,
you mean high side is IC's pin31-38 side? (pls see the attachments)
I tested HDMI1.4 impedance is pass, but HDMI2.0 fail.(the HDMI 2.0 impedance define 100ohm +/- 10%)
And HDMI2.0 impedance test must be power on test. It different to HDMI1.4 impedance test.
In HDMI2.0 impedance test the TS3DV642's switch is switched to the channel of the measured impedance.
could you provide your test result(about HDMI1.4 and HDMI2.0 impedance) for me?
I want to compare your test results to the customers result.
