Hi there:

I'm helping our customer to confirm about TS5MP645 for application camera MiPi signal through TS5MP645 to MCU

1. whether it has output buffer enhance? (due to the MiPi CSI-2 cable is about 20cm~30cm, not sure the output driving capability is enough or not)

2. If not, what's the suggestion solution or proposal we could make for long range mipi to CSI-2 trace? (ex: re-driver or else)

3. Does the differential I/O pin could support I2C switch used as well?

Kay,

1) The TS5MP645 is a passive FET switch and doesn't have an output buffer to enhance the signal
2) I will send this question to our redriving team to provide a proposal for a redriver
3) The differential I/O pins can be used in single ended applications such as I2C.

Which mipi camera and process or combination are you using and why is there a long cable between them?

mipi camera : OV5640

process : i.mx6

Our PCB size is 10cmx19cm .

mipi trace from i.mx6 to mipi connect maybe longer 5~9cm

Cable long 15~20cm.

Hi Kay,

We do not have a MIPI redriver, but the SN75DPHY440SS retimer can be used to improve MIPI signal quality:
