Recently installed ccs_v6.2 on Fedora 24(linux). Happened' to discover that the essential "terminal" function would not work with /dev/ttyACM0 while starting program as a regular user ... however, when starting ccs_v6.2 as 'root', the terminal senses the serial pseudo-interface /dev/ttyACM0, and works just fine.
The ccs_v6.2 software was installed while logged on as the 'regular user', and the drivers installed as 'root', per the recommendations in the install script provided with the software.
Not expecting a 'fix' for this, ... just posting this as a suggestion of a possible work-around for the ccs_v6.2 linux users having a terminal connection problem. Please contact me if you need additional information.
