CCS/TMS320F28335: How do I setup CCS 6 to erase EEPROM when flashing the part

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I cant find an option in Code Composer Studio to erase the EEPROM when flashing the part. The following is my setup

Processor: TMS320F28335
Code Composer Studio v6.6.0.0050
Compiler: TI v6.2.19
Spectrum: XDS100v2 USB JTAG Emulator

Hello Rudy,

Select Debug Configurations in the "Run" menu. Then, Select the Debug configuration that has the same name as your project.

Select Target->F28335 Flash Seettings. There are several different options to select from:
1. Erase,Program, Verify
2. Program,Verify
3. Load RAM Only
4. Verify Only

I have option 1 selected but it does not erase the EEPROM contents, only program flash.

That should work. Do you have "Load Program" selected and not "Load Symbols Only"

Also, do you have more than one debug configuration?

You might want to import the project into a new workspace and also delete and create a new target configuration for the project.

I noticed you said EEPROM and not FLASH. the TMS320F28335 doesn't have EEPROM on the chip. Did you mean FLASH?

Yes, sorry for wasting your time but I just realized the problem when you said that the TMS320F28335 doesn't have on-board EEPROM. I am working on an existing project and it wasn't until I looked at the code and schematic that realized that the EEPROM is external. I am not very familiar with the TI part so it never occurred to me that it might not have EEPROM on board. I really feel dumb now...
