CCS/TMS320F28377S: XDS100 V2 Does Not Show Up in COM Ports

Hello,

I am using a XDS100 V2 debug probe. From the documentation, I should expect to see two channels under COM Ports in Device Manager. However, I only see the following:

Is this the intended behavior? It passes the verify connection test and I can debug it but it doesn't work with GUI composer (I can't debug and run GUI composer at the same time).

Later on, I would like to log data over UART so getting a serial port is important.

Hello Graham,
Can you expand the "Port (COM & LPT)" node? Is there anything listed there like "XDS100 Class USB Serial Port (COMxx)"?

Hi Ki,

It doesn't show up after expanding the Port (COM & LPT) node. It does show up as a USB Composite Device under Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Which exact XDS100v2 probe are you using? Is it an on-board one integrated on to a kit or launchpad? Or is it an external one? If it is an external one, which vendor is the debug probe from?

It's an external probe, the Spectrum Digital Inc. XDS100v2 USB JTAG Emulator. It is the 14 pin model. I am able to flash my code onto the board so I'm confident that the pins are connected properly.

Try the steps below:

But substitute step 3 from:

In the list of devices, expand the group titled Universal Serial Bus controllers and look for a device named TI XDS100 Channel B

In the list of devices, expand the group titled Texas Instruments Debug Probes and look for a device named XDS100 Class Auxiliary Port

The rest of the steps should remain the same

You right-click on XDS100 Class Auxiliary Port and disable it, then you right click again and Uninstall, final you reset computer
