Hello.
I have a few questions.

I bought "MAP-FET Flash Emuration Tool" and "MSP-TS 430 RGC 64 B", "MSP 430 F 5310".
When downloading "CCStudio" and trying to operate the LED blinking sample software, the message "MSP 430: Error initializing emulator: Could not set device Vcc" is displayed and it does not work.
I am troubled because I do not understand the reason.
* Power is taken from USB.
* Crystal is using accessories.
* Build error has not appeared.
* "Connection" setting of "Build setting" is "TI MSP 430 USB 1 [Default]", even if you click "Identify", the same error message appears.

What is missing?
Please help me.

Hi,

First, what version of Code Composer Studio are you using?

Could you please check jumper JP3 on your target board? It should connected for the internal (JTAG) supply. Please see the image below:

If it is not connected correctly please make the change and let me know if that fixes your issue.

The version of CCS is 6.2.0.
JP3 is short-circuiting 1 and 2.

You might need to install a patch for CCS 6.2.0 - see MSP-FET: SOLUTION: Using newer MSP-FETs with older CCS or IAR versions

Hi Minoru,

Please JP5 - JP10 are correctly connected as shown above. If those are also fine, the issue does not appear to be with the hardware.

As pointed out by Chester, this may be due to you using an older version of CCS. In addition to trying the patch, you could also make sure that you install the version of CCS that the project you are using was built with.

I updated CCS to version 8.0 and solved it.
