CCS: CCS v8 Cannot read Code Generation Tools Repository

Hello Fabian,
Based on the site URL, I assume you are running CCS on Windows.

A common cause of that error is an issue with your firewall. Perhaps an exception was added for CCSv6 & 7 and needs to be updated for CCSv8? Can you try temporarily disabling any security/firewall software for a quick test?

sorry for the late answer, I was on vacation.

I just checked the windows firewall settings, and they are 100% identical between CCS v8 and older versions. Besides that it is only this site which does not work:

Code Generation Tools Updates - http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/codegen/Updates/p2win32

All other update sites are working with CCS v8

Can you go to:

'Help -> Install New Software'

and enter the CGT updates site to the field as shown below and see if it is able to resolve the path?

Note the "/" at the end of the path. That is needed

All other sites are working (both ways, the stored & the direct URL), but the Code Generation Tools site can not be accessed.

I am at a loss on why you are unable to access just that site with just CCSv8. While we investigate further, you can use the Code Generation Tools standalone download site to download the version of the tools you need:
software-dl.ti.com/.../download.htm

You can then configure CCS to "discover" it via the steps described in the below site:
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Compiler_Installation_and_Selection
