Hi,

the newest version of UNIFLASH does not work on MAC.

After installation of version 4.5 no connection is possible to the CC3220SF launchpad.

after reinstall of version 4.4 I have the following effect:

1.) Shut off MAC (restart is not enough)

2.) Switch on the MAC

3.) start version 4.4

4.) connect to cc3220sf launchpad (device can connect)

5.) disconnect + remove USB cable

6.) reconnect USB cable + reconnect

7.) no reconnect is possible only shut off the MAC will ever reconnect to the device

A hint:
before Mojave the two device names (see ls /dev/c*) of the debugger where fixed and one could replug the USB cable and the same names appeared again. Now one device name (ex. usbmodem05. -> usbmodem07) gets another name each time the device is replugged. CCS8 can handle this situation

Hi,

Yes, Ti should fix the problem.

I used the 4.4 version with no problems even with Mojave. The 4.4 version offered the update to the current version I selected "update", from the moment I had the described problem. Even downgrade did not solve anything. Currently I export the projects and copy the zip to a win 10 PC to flash my devices. Are there any caches or files I can delete to set the MAC to USB defaults before the UNIFLASH installation?

btw. on the MAC are the newest patches and updates installed

Not that I am aware of, I've just been using CCS8 to load the board in the meantime.

The changing USB device name is also strange. It seems to increment by 2 every time I unplug it and plug it back in. Not sure if that was intentional by Apple or if that is a bug in Mojave.

Hi,
the change in device name was the first thing I saw after Mojave was installed, for debug with the serial output you need to enter a different port name after unplug / plug. First I thought the UNIFLASH problem came from this behavior. But the version 4.4 worked with Mojave for several days, the 4.5 update lead to my problem. When I edit the javascripts I see that the routines look for ex. "E008" (see the JSON file) within the USB device name. Version 4.4 did find the correct device.
As I described the 4.4 + 4.5 actually work from the time I switch my MAC on (only Restart will not!!) up to unplug / plug the device

A possible work around t try. I have been able to program a CC3220SFLaunchXL by changing the serial number. This has permitted me to program the board under Mojave but still fails occasionally. You will need to manually select the board type for this to work (in my experience). Perhaps others can try this and see if you have the same results.

Hi,

you mean the device name shown with $ ls /dev/cu* that is listed within UNIFLASH as Serial Number when the device ist auto selected?

How can I change this number, the OSX generates this number when then device is connected to the USB port and commands like $ ln or$ ln -s are not permitted for devices

Hi,
I changed the SN with the xdsdfu utility to 1, serial numbers with 8 digits seem not to work. Thanks for the hint, but nevertheless Texas Instruments should modify the utility to reenable auto selection

When I use a small SN like 1. But TI should modify the software so that UNIFLASH auto detection works again.

Hi,

I investigated further: Only serial numbers up to 5 digits work with UNIFLASH / Mojave. So it seems that a buffer that handles the SN overflow or cut information.

As a consequence automatic device detection in UNIFLASH fails. I did not test CC2640R2F because the devices are flashed from CCS and I do not use UNIFLASH for these. So please TI fix this issue
