CCS/MSP430G2553: Error message "Debug assertion failed!" when I try to compile, no matter the code

First time poster, so here goes.

I just downloaded CCS and installed it (took about a whole day of teeth grinding and a couple tears of despair), but it's in. Fired up my MSP430G2553 to test things out, but about a couple of second after I hit Build, I get this

I've read that there may be some non-ASCII chars, but I could not find any. However, I don't know if this is related, but my workload directory is in a non ASCII named folder (my name..). How do I change the directory of the workload?

Are there any other good suggestions?

The path to your workspace folder cannot have any non-ASCII characters in it. One way to create a new workspace is by using the CCS menu selection File | Switch Workspace.
