Part Number: BQ27510

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Dear sir:

I have some questions about BQ27510

1.We burned our own bqfs file and found that it always failed to write. The failure information is as follows:

Written data:

Every time I fail in the same place, it's troublesome.

2.Can you provide us with an official and up-to-date available bqfs document?

3.Is I2C not working after the failure of Flash burning BQ27510 in the main control software?

4.Write failed chips with master control. Can you take them down and burn them with a burner?

Attachment is source code

how did you extract your bqfs? Did you use bqstudio and ev2300 or ev2400. what firmware version is on the adapter ie ev2300 or ev2400 that you used.
if a chip is fried due to programming a corrupted flasstream file, it is not possible tor recover the device
    thanks

The same question. We use bqStudio v1.3.54.1 and ev2300. I put those files in the attachment. Please help to check.

It fails to compare the value of reg 0x66.

The same issue. I use bqStudio v1.3.51.1 and ev2300.

I use KingstVIS to analysis the I2C data. It fails due to read a wrong value on reg 0x66.

    Hi Kyle,

You didn't address the question of the firmware version on the ev2300. If you are using 3.1c, then that needs to be updated to 3.1r or m. you can determine the firmware version by looking at the dashboard on the left handside of bqtudio.

You should also update the bqstudio you are using to eh 1.3.86 or which ever one is the latest on ti.com

Lastly, you have the option of breaking up the bytes. pls reduce that so you have less than 32 bytes per write. bqstudio has the option of reduciing the no of packet size by clicking the options button in the golden file tab when creating a golden dffs or bqfs. Then select limit packet size to something like 20.

    I hope this helps.
    thanks

    Hi Onyx,

I had tried it again just now. But unfortunately it fails again, and fail in different command line.

I had upgraded the bqstudio to v1.3.86, and limit the packet size to 16. But the EV2300 is 3.1c, I don't know how to update EV2300 to 3.1r or m, could you please tell me how to update? btw, I am doubt that why ev2300 will impact on bqfs.

  • In reply to Kyson Lok:

    HI

It is a know issue with the firmware version, i.e 3.1c that it corrupts the firmware file.

To update the ev2300 firmware you need a second ev2300.

    I have attached the updater.

    EV23000_876FW Updater.zip

let me know if you are unable to update the firmware

    thanks

    Onyx

    Hi Onyx,

Thanks for your information. I am on the vacation now, I will try it when I come back.

btw, could you please send me a bqfs file of bq27510 G3? So I can write it via I2C on my controller(my hardware with bq27510).
