CPU load cannot show any data

The following is the version of the tools and software:

CCS version: 5.5.0.00077

C5500 Compiler Tools version: 4.4.1

DSP/BIOS version: 5.42.1.09

SYS/BIOS version: 6.35.4.50

The emulator that I used is Texas Instruments XDS100v2

Can anyone give step by step guideline to setup the configuration or installation of required software?

Hi,

It seems you already have all the software you need, which is already shipped with CCSv5.

Are you looking for something else for the C55x family of devices? Are you running one of the example projects mentioned by Todd in the original thread to see if the Debug environment is properly working?

Hi,

I do not know the exact way to setup the configurations in order to show CPU load.

The method I used is in CCS Debug, Tools > RTOS Analyzer > RTA (Legacy) > CPU Load

I follow some of the thread saying that SYS/BIOS is not supporting C55x family so I doubt this is the main reason why CPU load show nothing.

Hi,

The menu option you are selecting is correct. CCSv5.5 fully supports the real-time analysis tools and the C55x family of devices.

In this case, I strongly suggest you to read the DSP/BIOS User's Guide for details about the CPU Load graph and how to invoke it.

And you are right; the SYS/BIOS does not support the C55x family of devices.

Hi,

The previous error have solved but now another issue at Debug mode.

It shows error:

No source available for "c_int00() at C:/Users\XWRN37\Desktop\MIPStest\bl_renoir\RPD\atlantis\digital\code\Debug\Renoir_C55_D00.01.02.out:{3} 0xef7c{4}"

I have no idea how to solve this issue and it block me entering debug mode, if I reset, it could not show c_int00() and still nothing show at my CPU load.

Hi,

Thanks for the information. However, I still cannot see any thing appear at CPU load data/graph. Raw Logs are working fine. Is there any special setting needed to be aware of at configuration file (.tcf) ?

I will have to pull an expert on these graphs to comment further, especially if you are seeing the Raw Logs.

Can you show a picture of the raw logs? I want to see what ones are there and confirm CPU log records are present.

Hi Todd,

Surprisingly the stairstep example CPU load is working today. However, I tested on my own code it is not working and the screenshot attached below is the raw logs of my code.

Can you scroll through the Raw Logs and see if you spot any CPU Load records? Do the same for ROV->LOG.

Can you attach your .tcf file? I expect you don't have the LOAD module turned on. You can take a look at the Stairstep example to see how to enable it.

You need to add LOAD_init as a user init function.

Sorry. It's been a while since I looked at the LOAD module in DSP/BIOS. Yes, you do need to supply the LOAD_init function. Please use the Stairstep example as a template. It has s LOAD_init function in the application source code.
