CCS/CC2650: CC2650

Dear E2E,

I am in the process of migrating from the reference design of the cc2541 to cc2650. This thread marked RESOLVED seems to indicate that this matter has been resolved. I have investigated the thread [Resolved] Migrating CC2541 to CC2650, which are the APIs for hal_delay_ms() and ll_McuPrecisionCount() - Bluetooth® forum - Bluetooth® - TI E2E Community

but this thread seems to point at a matter that is much further along and much deeper  in the transition which is beyond the starting point of the novice that I am and querying about. The resolved thread appears to have assumed such premise. I need to see which IDE I should begin to work with as I transition from the reference design of the cc2541 which IAR based IDE  to the cc2650 launchpad which is CCS compatible. Can I import the cc2541 reference design folder to the CCS and revise it to run it on the cc2650 or is there something that I need to do to the reference design within IAR environment to export it so it may be read by the CCS which is the design environment used by the 2650.
