Hi -

This is just a follow up question from my previous post. I have a customized version of the flash bootloader, which is BIOS-based, with a couple of different tasks. Are there any extra steps I need to take in order to jump to my application (@ APP_START_ADDRESS) from either one of the tasks. Thanks.

Hi Kens,

When you call BIOS_start, the highest priority task will start to run. It will run until
- it is blocked (e.g. on a semaphore or via Task_sleep) and the next highest priority task will run.
- it terminates (and the next highest priority task will run)
- a higher priority task is made ready to run

Hi Todd,

Thanks for replying to my post. The question I was really asking is:
When jumping to an application from the boot loader, is the process the same whether the boot loader is BIOS or Non-BIOS based. For example, do I need to follow any additional (formal) steps in the BIOS case, such as, making sure tasks are not pending. Thanks.

I'd disable interrupts in the boot loader before jumping to the application image. Also on the application image make sure you don't have the same reset vector table this is can be changed in the .cfg file. For example:

var Hwi = xdc.useModule('ti.sysbios.family.arm.m3.Hwi');
Hwi.resetVectorAddress = 0x20000000;
