[FAQ] CCS/CC3220SF: Using SysConfig, Resource Explorer, or ROV causes CCS Linux to flicker rapidly when moving the mouse

Part Number: CC3220SF

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

On Ubuntu 19.10, after a couple of minutes of work in the SysConfig editor, all the text, windows, menu, etc... begin to flicker and disappear every time I move the mouse. Even if I close the SysConfig the weird behavior remains. In this condition it's unusable at all. And it happens all the time. I have to restart the whole CCS to continue the development.

    Hello Andrea,

I believe you are running into the below known issue:

    https://sir.ext.ti.com/jira/browse/EXT_EP-9563

The title mentions just ROV and ReX, but the SysConfig GUI is built off the same framework and hence likely impacted by the same issue.

Please try the workaround mentioned in the link.

    Thanks

    ki

Please try the workaround mentioned in the link.

the workaround text is a bit truncated. Please see the full text below:

    Open a terminal and type:

    > export SWT_GTK3=0

then (in the terminal), browse to <CCS9 INSTALL DIR>/ccs/eclipse and run ./ccstudio
