CCS/MSP432P401M: Can't debug after update of MSP432 tool-chain to version 8.2.3

Hi Everybody,

Few day ago the installed CCS v9.3.0.00012 was reported that there is a new update available for MSP432 tool-chain (version 8.2.3). I've intalled it without any problem.

After a restart of the CCS i'm not able to debug the MSP432P401M in our design. I'm using MSP-FET and XDS110 USB Debug Probe. The following error message appears:

CORTEX_M4_0: GEL: Error loading file 'C:\ti\ccs930\ccs\ccs_base\emulation\gel\msp432p401m.gel': line 327: expecting EOF, found '}'

and also:
CORTEX_M4_0: Trouble Setting Breakpoint with the Action "Terminate Program Execution" at 0x14f98: (Error -614 @ 0x14F98) The target indicates there is an error condition from a previous SWD  request. Clear the error the condition, and try the SWD request again. (Emulation package 8.4.0.00006)
CORTEX_M4_0: Breakpoint Manager: Retrying with a AET breakpoint
CORTEX_M4_0: Breakpoint Manager: _JobHardwareBreakpoint::ARM_DEBUG_V7M_fpb_add_breakpoint: Register/memory read failure[22004]
CORTEX_M4_0: Trouble Setting Breakpoint with the Action "Finish Auto Run" at 0x6fac: (Error -615 @ 0x6FAC) The target failed to see a correctly formatted SWD header. The  connection to the target may be unreliable. Try lowering the  TCLK setting before trying again. (Emulation package 8.4.0.00006)
CORTEX_M4_0: Trouble Removing Breakpoint with the Action "Finish Auto Run" at 0x6fac: (Error -2044 @ 0x6FAC) Internal error: Requested breakpoint does not exist. Restart the application. If error persists, please report the error. (Emulation package 8.4.0.00006)
CORTEX_M4_0: JTAG Communication Error: (Error -615 @ 0x0) The target failed to see a correctly formatted SWD header. The  connection to the target may be unreliable. Try lowering the  TCLK setting before trying again. (Emulation package 8.4.0.00006)

What is wrong? What can I do now?

    Hello Zoltan,

    There is an error in the new msp432p401m.gel file that comes with tool-chain version 8.3.2. To workaround the issue, please remove the extra closing bracket on line 327.

    I will file a bug for this.

    I've modified the .gel file, restarted the CCS, start a new debug and an error message appeared:

    Error connecting to the target:
    (Error -614 @ 0x0)
    The target indicates there is an error condition from a previous SWD
    request. Clear the error the condition, and try the SWD request again.
    (Emulation package 8.4.0.00006)

    I had to cycle the power of our HW design and restart the CCS again. Than it works!
