Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO
Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
I notice that "Update Installer for CCSv9.3 1.0.0 com.ti.ccstudio.updateinstaller.feature.group" has been released, for which the description is:
This patch addresses an issue that may cause other updates to not be installed correctly.
I assume this was released to fix the issues originally reported CCS: CCS 9.2.0.00013 fails to run installer for TI ARM Compiler Tools 18.1.x and CCS: CCS 9.2.0.00013 fails to run installer for SEGGER J-Link Support.
From the description of the patch, not sure if the patch can can correct a CCS 9.3 installation which had previously failed to install updates correctly, or if only applies to updates which are installed after the patch has been installed.
Due to being unsure I performed the following
1. Perform a fresh installation of CCS 9.3 into a new directory, under both Windows 10 and Ubuntu.
2. Install only the Update Installer for CCSv9.3 1.0.0 patch.
3. Select to install the other updates. I confirm that the patch does appear to solve the update issues in that:
a. With the patch, when CCS restarts to install the updates installers are shown as running and once the installers have been run the CCS GUI reappears. Whereas prior to the patch the installers didn't appear to run and CCS seems to exit.
b. With the patch updates to compilers are visible in the list of discovered tools.
It might be useful if the description of the patch could explain if it is able to repair existing installations or not.
