CCS/TMS320F28379D: TMS320F28379D

Part Number: TMS320F28379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Kassel Germany. We bought around 10 boards of C2000-TMS320F28379D Launchpad XL. Most of them have problems with the ADCs as they are highly distorted and we are reading higher values of the currents from the ADC and there are oscillations. We have also tested the F28335 and its working better in comparison to the 379D.

Let me add one thing to my problem. We have an embedded coder and the Matlab/Simulink is generating the C-code. As we have the Simulink model for the 379D. I think this might be the problem with the ADCs which I am not sure. The CCs is not involved.
I will be grateful if you could help us out.
Thanks in anticipation.
Regards

  • Hi Ahmad,

Are you using 16-bit differential signaling or 12-bit single-ended?

What is the impedance of the ADC driver?  Is there any R-C on the ADC input pin? What is the ADC S+H window duration?  Is this long enough as per formulas in TRM "choosing an acquisition window duration" section?

Is the system clock 200MHz or less?  Is the ADCCLK 50MHz or less?

You may want to try one of the included ADC examples in C2000ware with CCS; if it works then you can narrow things down to a SW issue with Matlab, otherwise a HW/setup issue might be more likely.
