CCS: CCS 10 s/w update issue

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello!

I have installed CCS v10 on Win10Pro x64 machine. On CCS startup it was proposed to update Eclipce marketplace client s/w, and I agreed. After that error message popped up:

I've seen other thread was about proxy settings in TI campus , but my situation is different, I'm working from home, yeah locked down, and my network has no such proxy infrastructure. In case if that matters, here what I see on my network connection page:

Please advise how to fix that.

Thanks

  • Hello,

Forgot about that trick, performed right now, but it did not help. After cache removal on the next CCS start-up I was offered to install update and it failed again with

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
    session context was:(profile=epp.package.cpp, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).

It is the Eclipse Marketplace update that is failing, correct? Was the Eclipse Marketplace working before the update attempt?

I've never been prompted to update the Eclipse Marketplace. I'm wondering why this is appearing as an option in your environment.

  • Hi again,

Yes, Eclipse Marketplace client update is failing. I have no specific reason to deal with it. On my side whatever is offered to update - I just do update.

Perhaps the only difference of my setup from clean one is that I have installed Eclox plugin. I was using "Install new software" option for that.

I suspect that plugin added some standard Eclipse update sites and triggered the Eclipse marketplace update. Thanks for the additional information, it is very helpful. I'll see if I can get more details on the error and if there is a workaround/remedy

After some discussions with engineering, this appears to be the case. The issue is that CCS does not have the stock Eclipse update sites enabled by default. The EClox plug-in likely added some, which triggered the Eclipse Marketplace update, but not all of them. The Marketplace update likely has some dependencies on those other update sites. One option is to manually added/enable those stock Eclipse sites. But this is not a supported (tested) environment. It might be better to simply ignore the Eclipse Marketplace update instead (and perhaps remove some of the update sites that is triggering the Marketplace update notification)

  • Hello,

Thanks for clarification. The feature affected is not what limiting my fork so far. Just I like Doxygen generator to be triggered inside CCS and that was the reason to install Eclox. Other than annoyance it makes no other troubles to me. Let me confirm I could install CCS related updates once these would be available. Perhaps the thread may not live open for such a period, so I would use a follow-up next time.

    Thanks
