TAS5716 &TAS5706

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5706, TAS5716, TAS5825M, TAS5805M

Hi,

I would like to design speaker array using TAS5716 or TAS5706.

Can I use these two products with I2S input and output with 4 channel?

Besides, I saw the TAS5716 and TAS5706 have interchannel delay.

Does it means I can set up time delay between each channel ?

If I can, the time delay value can above 300µs?

  • Hi Joan Jio,

TAS5716 and TAS5706 do support 4channels single end output. But there is no available delay buffer for each channel.

As for new product design, TAS5825M and TAS5805M are recommended for new closed-loop ClassD structure for better audio performance and lower BOM cost. What's more TAS5825M does support max 50samples for 48kHz DSP processing for left and right channels, which means 1.041ms.

    Regards,

    Matthew

  • Hi Matthew,

TAS5716 is no available delay buffer for each channel, so what's the function of "interchannel delay" of the following picture?

Besides, TAS5825M can also with I2S input and output with 4 channel?

    Regards,

    Joan

  • Hi Joan,

TAS5716 datasheet specify ICD setting after output speaker mode is decided. So it's not able for customer using.

As for TAS5825M with TI lasted generation Closed loop ClassD structure for better audio performance, it could support I2S input, 2 channel BTL output with DSP configurable inner channel delay.
