Thanks. CCS is not officially supported (tested) on Manjaro so it could be some issue with that environment. I'll need to set up a Manjaro environment to try this on.

forgot to say, was working and still IS WORKING with the simple link version before.
I believe I have found the root problem. The associated projectspec file for the example appears to have an incorrect path in SDK version 4.20. The same projectspec file in 4.10 is correct.
To workaround the problem, open the 'ncp_ftd_CC2652RB_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_gcc.projectspec' file located in:
/simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_4_20_00_35/examples/rtos/CC2652RB_LAUNCHXL/thread/ncp_ftd/tirtos/gcc
replace line 194 with:
<file path="${COM_TI_SIMPLELINK_CC13X2_26X2_SDK_INSTALL_DIR}/source/ti/boards/CC2652RB_LAUNCHXL/Board.html" openOnCreation="false" excludeFromBuild="false" action="link">
I will contact the team that creates the SDK to let them know if this issue.
Thanks
